GILROY—Gavilan College’s bid for a third consecutive victory came up one quarter short Saturday night as the visiting Yuba College Forty Niners scored three touchdowns in the final 12 minutes to top the Rams 45-35 at Garcia-Elder Sports Complex.

Week 2 saw a three-way tie at the top with Erin, Cheeto and Nathan all going 7-3. Emanuel had the next best round, going 6-4 and Scott brought up the rear with a 4-6 pick. 

Prep Volleyball: Cougars top Gilroy in friendly rivalry matchup

GILROY—The score of the Christopher and Gilroy volleyball game was quickly forgotten by the players Thursday night. After the match, Cougars and Mustangs talked, laughed and posed for pictures together and for the seniors, the evening was bittersweet.

Prep Football: Cougars prep for tough Carmel team

GILROY—Any doubts about Christopher have been wiped away. The Cougars were dominate on both sides of the ball in their 48-14 pummeling of Live Oak on Sept. 12 at home. The offense, which produced just 12 points against Sobrato, racked up 390 yards on the Acorns—365 of which came in the air.

Prep Football: Gilroy adjusts for Half Moon Bay

GILROY—Gilroy coach Brian Boyd was at a loss for words following the team’s 39-0 shutout loss to Sobrato on Sept. 13.
