Christopher and North Salinas each had three wins a piece under their belts, but one had to walk away a winner. All eyes turned to No. 3 singles player Tiffany Roberts to take home a 'W' for the Cougars — and she didn't disappoint. Roberts won the first set 6-3, but dropped the second 4-6. The Cougars' No. 3 didn't let up, taking the tiebreaker match 10-3 to help her team close out the regular season on a high note and  edge North Salinas 4-3 Tuesday on the road.  "It was an exciting finish to a good year for the girls tennis team," CHS coach Patrick McBrearty said.   No. 1 singles player Emily Barham was stellar once again, shutting down her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to remain undefeated on the year. Adena Chen, Christopher's No. 2, also won her match 6-4, 6-2 in singles' play. 

Leilani Mah was unstoppable for Gilroy Monday.   Mah led the Mustangs volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Monterey on the road, snapping a five-game losing streak. GHS won 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 to improve to an overall 3-11 record and 2-8 in league.    Mah racked up...

The Christopher girls tennis team was feeling the pressure before Thursday's match against Notre Dame, but was able to quickly settle down and get down to business. 

SAN JOSE — Gavilan nearly pulled out a Coast Conference football victory over the host San Jose City College Jaguars, only to fall short 27-26 in a big-play, big-miscue afternoon.

CASTROVILLE — North Monterey County may have prepared for Brandon Boyd’s rushing attack, but they seemed to have no answer for him as a kickoff returner.

GILROY — Rayshon Mills is king on and off the field.

MONTEREY — Gavilan coach Spencer Gilford had just two words for his team following Saturday’s game: Stay focused.

GILROY — Christopher’s game against Everett Alvarez may have been its toughest one thus far — not only on the field, but off it as well.
