Christopher’s magical run in the Central Coast Section playoffs came to a heartbreaking and sudden end.

Last year, three girls’ teams claimed league titles at Christopher in golf, swimming and track and field. There were two other Cougar teams, boys and girls water polo, who were close to hanging their own banners up and they are determined to take their rightful places in the gym this season.

It was nearly eight years ago that the Acorns last won a game at Gilroy High. In 2004 - Live Oak’s second to last year in the same league with the Mustangs - the Acorns upset the Mustangs 44-34 in Gilroy.
