National Depression Screening Day

Thursday, Oct. 7, 8am-2pm

If you’ve been feeling consistently moody or sad lately, if you can’t concentrate or relax, if you’re unable to eat or sleep or are troubled by unexplained aches and pains, you could be one of the millions of Americans who suffer from depression.

Mental health disorders such as depression frequently go undiagnosed. National Depression Screening Day hopes to make a dent in the lack of diagnoses.

Those who go to the screening will fill out a one-page questionnaire to assess the likelihood that they may be suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder or an anxiety disorder.

There will be an educational presentation and literature available, and mental health professionals will be on hand to follow up with patients, if necessary.

The program is free and confidential for all who choose to attend.

The screening will take place in the lobby of Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, 911 Sunset Dr. Call (831) 636-1884 for more information.
