Fred Tovar gave a personal tour to 58 honor society students
from Ascencion Solorsano Middle School on Feb. 3.
Fred Tovar, Gilroy Unified School Board trustee, who is also the director of student affairs and the assistant director of admissions to the Stanford University School of Medicine, gave a personal tour to 58 honor society students from Ascencion Solorsano Middle School on Feb. 3.
The purpose of the tour was to expose students to the college environment and encourage them to aim high.
“I’m your contact at Stanford,” Tovar told them. “We want Gilroy kids up here.”
Students were accompanied by Ascencion teachers Tobi Brown and Valerie Kelly.
