after a lengthy illness. She was 25.
Stephanie Hurtado passed away on Saturday, March 13, in Gilroy after a lengthy illness. She was 25.
Stephanie was a graduate of San Andreas High School and Gavilan College. Upon completion at Gavilan College, she entered her career in San Martin as a teacher’s assistant at San Martin Child Development Program for Santa Clara County. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Hollister and The Rock Church in Morgan Hill. “She enjoyed life and being with family, going to the beach, dancing, watching sunsets and traveling,” her husband said.
She is survived by her husband Aldo Hurtado, of Hollister; her parents Refugio and Minerva Franco, also of Hollister; her parents-in-law Aureliano and Eva Hurtado; grandmother Minerva Garcia, of Gilroy; brothers Jose and Jaime Garcia; sisters-in-law Gaby Vallejo, Monica Ford and Lorena Scalmanini, all of Hollister; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
Family and friends will leave the mortuary chapel on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and go to St. Benedict’s Church for a mass at 10 a.m. An interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
