Steve “Richard” Aguilar, 34, of Gilroy, passed away on Sept. 25, 2003, due to illness.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Orosco Aguilar, and his three children, Richard, Richelle and Ryan Aguilar, all of Gilroy. He is also survived by his father, Alfonso Aguilar; mother Lena Galvan; grandparents, Cruz and Micaela Fausto, all of Gilroy; brothers Alfonso Aguilar of Visalia, Roy Aguilar, Fernando Aguilar, both of Gilroy, and Adam Aguilar of Billings, Mont.; sisters, Tina Aguilar of San Jose, Crystal Aguilar of Billings and Taylor Aguilar, of Sacramento. Richard is also survived by his goddaughter, Brianna Olivares, of Gilroy and many special in-laws. He has eight nephews, eight nieces, many uncles and aunts, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marcial and Anita Galvan.

Richard was born and raised in Gilroy, loved family gatherings, singing karaoke to his favorite songs and weight lifting. He enjoyed all sports and was a dedicated Raider and Jeff Garcia fan.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., Gilroy. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday at noon, also at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
