The Gilroy Planning Commission approved a permit Dec. 7 to construct a storage facility at the intersection of Gilman Road and Camino Arroyo.
The 57,671-square-foot StorQuest Self Storage facility will be located on a more than five-acre plot of land next to Miller Slough and across from Costco and other big box stores.
The plans call for nine separate buildings, in addition to 41 outdoor recreational vehicle storage parking stalls.
It will also have two murals, one painted on the building facing Camino Arroyo and the other facing Gilman Road.
The commission voted 5-0, with two commissioners absent, to approve the permit with the condition that the business remove any graffiti on the buildings within two business days of it being notified.
