Each month, the principals of Gilroy and Christopher high schools choose a total of four students (two from GHS and two from CHS) to spotlight. CHS sophomore Bridget Brown, 16, is this week’s Student of the Week.
What inspires you?
To know that all of the work I put in now will shape my future.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
My favorite subject in school would have to be science because it’s challenging for me. In sciences like biology and chemistry you have no previous knowledge to go off of and everything you learn is completely foreign to you.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
If I had the power to change one thing in the world, I would give all people the ability to tolerate all differences between themselves and others such as ethnicity, religion, and culture.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
That’s a tough question. If I had to choose one place to go I would go to the Amazon rainforest because it’s way out of my comfort zone.
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
My biggest challenge is finding enough time to sleep!
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a missionary doctor.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things could you not live without?
Three things I couldn’t live without if stuck on a deserted island would be my glasses (I have really bad eyesight), a blanket (it doesn’t take much for me to get cold), and a friend.
Favorite book:
Unfortunately I do not have a lot of time to read but my favorite book would have to be “The Hunger Games” because Susan Collins’ ideas are so creative and futuristic.
Something that makes you smile:
My sister, Tatum, never fails to make smile.
