Pintello Comedy Theater does it again with its favorite Canadian playwright Norm Foster with “The Affections Of May,” the 44th production in its 13 years. They continually offer four solid comedy productions a year, always involving one or more of the family members starring, directing or handling lights or sound. The Pintellos have a loyal following that enjoys well-done theatre in our own backyard.
“The Affections Of May” takes us on a delightful journey with big city people in a small, gossipy town and covers a delicate subject with absurd hilarity that keeps the audience laughing.
Whitney Pintello, Duane Holt, Jeff Patereau and Peter Mandel deliver charming performances with Rod Pintello’s deft direction.
“The Affections Of May” tells the story of May Henning who, along with her unfaithful husband, left the big city for country life running a bed and breakfast. Peter is restless and has other interests in the city and decides to return, leaving May (Whitney Pintello) to contend with the small town lotharios (Jeff Patereau and Deane Holt) who are fascinated with her style and delightful personality. All is done tongue-in-cheek and a barrel of laughs is delivered by this talented cast.
“The Affections Of May” is an enjoyable moment in well-done comedy that Pintello productions always seem to deliver.
Look for Pintello’s New Years Eve Bash with music, wine, food, dancing and their latest comedy, “Bathroom Humor.” (This one takes place in the bathroom while a party goes on in the rest of the house.) Make your New Years Eve reservations early as this will sell out fast.
