I was appalled at your Nov. 11 editorial, essentially saying “good riddance” to Mayor Springer. Shame on you, or, as you people like to say, “Jeers!”
During his time as mayor, he had to put up with one to two Arellanos on the Council. Any “good riddance” statement should be directed to them, not to Tom.
And, because the runner-up in this most recent mayoral election is one of said Arellanos, we just elected a joke for a mayor. Four years of the Pinheiro regime is going to make Gilroy a joke.
Tom Springer was the best mayor Gilroy has had in my 38 years here. Too bad the Dispatch editorial staff is too blind to see the forest with all the trees in the way.
