A three-car collision on Hecker Pass Highway Friday morning sent two people to the hospital.
About 7:15 a.m., a 42-year-old Watsonville man driving east on Hecker Pass in a 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck stopped near Watsonville Road, possibly to make a left turn, police said. From what police have gathered, a 27-year-old Watsonville woman driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla was slowing behind the truck when a 1990 Toyota Celica driven by a 32-year-old Gilroy man slammed into her rear bumper.
The impact of the third car caused the woman’s car to hit the truck at the front of the line.
The woman and man driving the Celica were transported to Saint Louise Regional Hospital for treatment, the woman with complaints of pain to her neck and back, and the man with complaints of pain to his neck, head and back. The man suffered a small fracture near his neck area.
The driver of the truck at the front of the line refused medical treatment and told police he would seek his own.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
