On March 14, members of Congregation Emeth (South Valley's Jewish Community) celebrated a holiday quite unlike any other. Although Jewish holidays tend to be somewhat somber, Purim is marked by revelry and merry-making.

AAUW Wildflower 5K/10K, Stroller 5K, and 2K Kid’s run
On Sunday, April 13, the 31st Annual AAUW Wildflower 5K/10K and 5K Stroller Category and 2K kid’s race will be held at Live Oak High School, 1505 E. Main Ave., Morgan Hill, CA. Check in and day-of-race registration starts at 7:30 AM. The 2K Kid’s run starts at 8:30 AM on the high school track. All 2K runners receive a medal. The 10K run starts at 9:00 AM, and the 5K run/walk/Stroller take off at 9:15 AM. T-shirts—best selection for early registrants—Medals for top three places in Men’s and Women’s age divisions. Stroller division also includes a toddler-sized T-shirt for the stroller participant. They will also receive medals for the top three, men and women, there are no age divisions.

Beautiful and warm, that’s how the weather’s supposed to be this spring weekend and that’s how the San Jose Sharks are playing after the Olympic break. A Stanley Cup would be fitting for Joe Thornton, in particular. The longer he plays, the more legends he passes in the record books. When you watch him carefully, he’s clearly a “Jedi Master” feeding teammates the puck for scoring opportunities. At just the right moment in just the right place, the disc arrives on the stick and it’s a thing of beauty to watch and marvel over.
