Ring in New Year with delicious drinks
“End of the year” reviews are a wonderful tradition. As we look back on the passing year, it gives us perspective while we look forward to a new beginning and new year. To complete my first full year writing “The Flavor Chronicle,” I offer a few recipes for celebratory nonalcoholic beverages.
Challenge for the New Year
Why does life throw challenges and crisis at us? Because that is the only way we will change. It is the only way we will rid ourselves of evil, bad habits, greed, ego and the wrong priorities. It’s human nature wanting to stay the course, not to rock the boat, and usually the only way we will change is if we are forced into it by some outside influence, i.e. financial crisis, death, illness, catastrophe. We have to look at the challenges as an opportunity and as a way to re-prioritize what is important.
2013 Year in Review
It's hard to believe another year has come and gone. Looking back, 2013 indeed was a pivotal year for housing markets nationwide. Many markets saw an incredible bounce back, homeowners regained equity and mortgage rates for the most part remained incredibly low.
