Register now for Spring classes at Gavilan College

New and returning students can get ready to register for Spring classes at Gavilan College. Prior to registering for classes, new students must submit an application, take an assessment test, attend orientation, and meet with a counselor.

Lighting up the night

The late fall 50-degree chill in the air couldn't keep dozens of bundled-up people from celebrating the Downtown Chanukah Candlelighting at the Third Street Promenade in Morgan Hill Tuesday. The lighting of the menorah on the seventh night of Chanukah was sponsored by Congregation Emeth.

Join us to celebrate our nearly 30 year tradition of Christmas concerts with Season of Wonders!  Sunday, December 15th at 2:30pm at the Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church.  We will sing and we will all have cookies with warm beverages after the concert.  Donations at the door, first-come; first-served seating.  Merry Christmas!

Last December when I asked our local community for help with collecting toys for children in need, a man I had never met named Bob suddenly appeared and donated three big bags of brand new toys for the Toy Giveaway Christmas Event taking place on Dec. 20 to benefit children in need.

The first of our preparatory hikes was on New Year's morning. I have led a New Year's hike for several years, and it is usually an intimate affair. Last January, when more than one hundred of you came, I knew I had touched a nerve.

Make this holiday the season of giving

With mass media warning us that we have a mere four weeks (less one day) between Thanksgiving and Christmas, our “Holiday Season” is on the skimpy side this year. This had me worried.
