Along the banks of the American River’s South Fork, in a valley native Nisenan people called “Cullumah“ or “beautiful valley,” craftsman James Marshall discovered gold in 1848. Marshall’s discovery began the great California Gold Rush and fueled the West’s dramatic growth for decades.

“Next Fall” is a moving story by Geoffrey Nauffts about gay rights, coming out, religion and tragedy with a mix of humor. Adam (indomitable Danny Scheie) is an avowed gay atheist who carries the heavy load of dialogue with just enough control to keep his character believable. Luke (delightful Adam Shonkwiler) is young and handsome, and raised a devout Catholic who prays for forgiveness after sex. He has not told his family about living with Adam for the past four years - but destiny has made the time and place for his coming out a hospital, where family and friends gather to hope Luke pulls through from a serious auto accident.

Gilroy HS activities Oct. 28 – Nov. 6
It has been a busy last couple of weeks here at Gilroy High School! Last week was homecoming. Homecoming week at GHS is controlled chaos. During the week we had spirit days, float building, royalty, and a rally. Homecoming week came to an end on Friday, with a parade, football game, and announcement of homecoming King and Queen (Brandon Boyd and Leilani Mah). The halftime was topped off by a great fireworks display as well.
CHS Holiday Boutique
The Christopher High School Holiday Boutique will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in the CHS dining commons, 850 Day Road. More than 35 vendors will be selling everything from unique arts and crafts, jewelry, handmade one-of-a-kind treasures, clothing, handbags, sweet delights and more. Enjoy a night out and get a good start on your holiday shopping. All proceeds support the Christopher High School Parent Club and are used for senior scholarships, honor roll recognition, staff appreciation and supplies for teachers.
