Finding destiny in film – and each other
We all love a film with a good story. This is a story about filmmakers.
Pinterest: A place to feel inadequate – and see cats
I think Pinterest has ruined the world. And possibly it's quite evil.
Financial considerations for 2014
Next year is really not too far away. Fall is the time of year when the financially savvy start to look for ways to reduce their taxes and make year-end moves in pursuit of key financial objectives.
Youth ‘thrive’ at Gilroy church
It may be a cliché, but that makes it no less true: Every religion is only a generation away from extinction. One local church that is not about to let that happen is Gilroy's Foothills Church (8335 Church St.).
Comfort food of fall
Fall is upon us and soon, the familiar chill I have missed will set in. Around the beginning of October, I think about fresh apples and comfort food. On their own, they are delicious, but have you ever considered putting them together? This week, I feature a recipe where I have done just that.

MLB: Gimenez is living the dream with Tampa Bay Rays after a rollercoaster season
The life of a Major League Baseball player is exhilarating. The opportunity to play baseball at the highest level in front of packed stadiums in different cities every night all while getting paid to do so is a dream come true for Gilroy’s Chris Gimenez — but it’s not without sacrifice.
Chuckie and Buddy: Healing from loss
My Chuckie of almost 17 years was my life. He was the most sweet, loving, caring cockapoo a person could ever ask for. He gave me strength during my mother’s heart attack. He faithfully followed me around while I grieved for my husband Leonard at the time when he had a cardiac arrest. I would find him faithfully behind our door waiting for me daily until I came home from work. I could hear his barks greeting me as I would drive up. He slept in my bed with me every night and sat next to me downstairs as we would watch TV together. We would take walks together, visit the beach and even attend baseball games together.
