Carly: New to the family
This is my new best friend and dog Carly. She is special to me because she is very funny and she’s new to my family. She lets me dress her up and LOVES to sleep with people! Carly likes to play ball and fetch with me. If she sees cats, she will chase them and lick them. She likes to go where ever I go. She is almost potty trained. When I go to sleep, she wants to lay with me and she licks my face a lot! She also keeps in shape by chasing a laser light.
Getting Out: Finding fall color in Northern California
I envy the acuity of wild animals that can sniff the morning breeze and perceive the changing seasons. My own cement mixer sensory equipment is liable to miss the passing of a marching band. But the coming of autumn has some quality that breaks through my addled radar. It's not just the morning chill. I feel a distinct lazy stillness in the air as if my DNA remembers that it's nearly time to bed down for the winter as my evolutionary ancestors did.
Benny: Making new friends
We love our dog Benny because he's the sweetest and funniest dog ever. He loves everyone and always loves to give and receive lots of kisses. When Benny is out for a walk he likes to meet and greet new four-legged friends as well as those with just two legs. Benny loves to have the back of his ears and tummy rubbed. When he sees another dog on television he jumps up and starts barking as if the other dog can hear him. Benny also barks at balloons because he doesn't understand why they're moving. We love that Benny always follows Daddy around the house and sleeps under his desk. Benny loves to snuggle on the couch, but doesn't like to get his teeth brushed. He's a part of our family and we love him very much.
TomTom: Puppy love
And weighing in at a staggering 20 pounds, please welcome, TomTom the bichon! Our little bundle of puppy love was born Sept. 22, 2011. This day changed our lives forever.
Mally: Mally and me
Hello my name is Reyna Padron and I am 7 years old. Two months ago I got my puppy Mally. She is a Maltion. She is half Maltese and Papillon. She loves me a lot. She sleeps in my room every night inside a crate. That makes me feel safe.
Smoochie: Training days
My dog Smoochie goes above and beyond being my best friend, he's also my service dog.
Lucy and Rigby: Beatles fans
Lucy, our 10-month-old terrier mix, and Rigby, our 12-week-old Lab/terrier mix, were named after songs by The Beatles.
Leaf: A girl’s BFF
Stretched legs built for running. Spock ears for good hearing. One wet noise to detect tasty food. Smooth dark chocolate fur worth getting all over your shirt. Light brown puppy dog eyes to win the love of even the coldest person. Seven pounds of pure fun. That's a girl's best friend right there!
Lily Biafore: Healing through love
Lily Biafore is the most amazing dog anyone could ask for, and she is all mine! Lily came into my life when I needed a companion the most. When I saw her as a puppy in the pet store, I knew right away that we needed each other. Being young and broke, I asked my wonderful uncle if he would pay for her, and I could pay him back in monthly installments. When I made the final payment to my uncle, it was the best feeling in the world because she was all mine, and I had paid for her all by myself.
Joey, Buddy and LadyGirl: Angels sent from Heaven
My dog Joey, named after Joe Montana of course, is my constant companion and fellow 49er fan. He always listens to me if I have complaints about how the team is doing and celebrates with me when they are doing well. He has his very own 49er jersey and wears it proudly on game days. Joey was found wandering alone in rural Hollister about a year and a half ago. Even though we don’t know his true heritage, he is most likely a Maltese mix.
