Do you have a quiet cat or a chatty catty?
One of my friends mentioned a magazine article about how cats communicate and he asked me what I thought. Everyone agrees that most cats try to talk to us, especially when they’re hungry and it’s dinner time. Researchers have spent huge amounts of time and money trying to get inside the minds of domestic felines. (What a great job that must be; imagine getting paid to analyze kitty-cat conversations.)
A personal look at Capote
WHEN the South Valley Civic Theatre with their Morgan Hill Community Playhouse Company decided to present “Tru” a one man show they bravely went into delicate territory. A one man show is a gamble, the material has to be believable, the direction has to be really detailed and the “one man” that carries the production for 90 minutes has to be able to deliver the character he is playing. Well they seemed to hit it just right with their first one man play, Bill Tindall carries the Truman Capote character with all his humor and insecurities with the book by Jay Presson Allen who brings us a sad unsure Capote, Carol Harris directs with a sensitive brush and brings in a very acceptable “Tru”.
Re-striping Santa Teresa
Is the city (or county) ever going to properly stripe the northbound lanes on Santa Teresa between Day Road East and Day Road West (in front of Christopher High School)? There are now faintly painted dots marking the lane separation. The problem is that if you stay in the only straight lane at the Day Road East intersection, you end up in the left turn lane that turns onto Day Road West. During rush hour, “unknowing” drivers get stuck in that left turn lane because “knowing” drivers slip over that dotted line into the right lane not allowing the “unknowing” driver to move to the right.

Catch of the week
Tiffany Comento didn't think landing her first fish – a 1-lb. rainbow trout – meant she had to hold the yucky thing! But dad Joe insisted that they preserve the fruits of their labor at Lake Pardee in Valley Springs on film. Tiffany agreed to hold it … with rubber gloves and a paper towel in between her hands and the slimy skin.
