FOSMAS Adult Cats for $17.76 During July
Independence Special: We’ve got kitties coming out of our ears! In addition to this year’s kittens, we have some kittens from last year (now teen-agers) and the previous year (now adults). Our FOSMAS Board of Directors approved an “Independence Special" reduced adoption fee for the month of July only. FOSMAS adult cats (18 months and older) get their independence for only $17.76! Drum roll, please, for this statement from the Garlic Festival Board of Directors regarding missing revenue: “Since the discovery of missing funds from a ticket booth, the 2012 Garlic Festival Board of Directors has chosen to address this incident as a criminal matter and defer comment to the Gilroy Police Department. This incident will in no way impact the total revenue distribution to participating non-profit organizations.” Batten down the hatches. So, GPD, how many interviews have been conducted? In the department’s view, is there clear evidence of a theft? Have the suspect(s) been contacted? Is the District Attorney’s office reviewing the facts? What are the facts thus far? If answers to these basic questions would “compromise” the investigation, please explain how that’s the case. and they should be given as much information as possible as soon as it’s available.
Unkindest of cuts for Gilroy’s official welcomers
It’s all about the economy and health and wellness of Gilroy. I appreciate how the council has “lived within its means” and pleased that the city council members’ decisions have not built the city to resemble what is happening in our neighbor to the north, Morgan Hill. I understand the need to keep at-risk youths entertained and off the streets to make for a safe community and I am thankful the seven elected officials sitting on the council dais are making it a priority.
