It’s showtime!
Now is the time of year when many young adults are showing off such livestock as cattle, sheep, swine, and goats at fairs and competitions all over the country. Dr. Floron Faries, professor and extension veterinarian, Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M System, has some advice for youth to help ensure their livestock show season is a big hit.
From under the sea to outer space
My first snorkeling experience was in a cove in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii. Awed by the absolute beauty of the brilliantly colored fish and coral and enthralled by a huge turtle swimming ahead of me, I lost all common sense and swam farther and farther out to sea following the turtle and searching for new and more colorful marine life.
