Brian Marx

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department and Gilroy Police Department officers were involved in the search for a man who fled from deputies just after 10 a.m. Monday.
At 10:08 a.m., deputies made contact with the driver of a car parked in a red zone at Travel Park Circle and Monterey Road, according to Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup of the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office.
During the initial contact the deputies suspected that Marx was under the influence of a controlled substance.
“The deputies ascertained probable cause to make an arrest and the driver took off running,” said Sgt. Stenderup.
Marx fled on foot toward U.S. 101 and was able to successfully avoid being caught, added Stenderup.
At the height of the search which centered around a densely vegetated area to the east of U.S 101, four sheriff vehicles and three GPD units were at the scene.
The hunt was called off just after 11 a.m. and a team of deputies began examining the red, four-door Saturn car abandoned by the driver.
During the search of Marx’s car, deputies found methamphetamine, according to Sgt. Stenderup. A warrant has been issued for Marx’s arrest.
Brian Marx is described as a white male adult, 6 feet tall and approximately 190 pounds.
Anyone with information about Marx’s whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 408-299-2311 or call 911.
