Tournament continues Thursday
The Gilroy High girls varsity water polo team, which finished the regular season 15-1 overall and 8-0 in the Tri-County Athletic League, defeated Watsonville 14-3 in the first round of the league championship tournament Tuesday in Carmel, head coach Sean LaGuardia said.

The Mustangs, who are the tournament’s No. 1-seed, play Salinas in the second round on Thursday in Carmel.

The top-three finishers in the tournament qualify for the Central Coast Section playoffs.
