I’m looking forward to the next week and a half. It isn’t because the 2011-12 prep sports year is coming to a close, either. Like former Saints and Colts head coach Jim Mora once questioned – playoffs? Yes, coach Mora, playoffs.
The postseason begins for the Christopher High softball and baseball teams, the Gilroy High softball team, and athletes from both schools in track and field this week. In case you haven’t read it already here it is again: CHS softball hosts Pioneer on Wednesday at 4 p.m.; Gilroy High softball travels to Morgan Hill to take on Sobrato at 4 p.m. Wednesday; Thursday at 4 p.m.; Christopher baseball makes its playoff debut at Leland in San Jose; The Central Coast Section track and field Trials are Saturday at Gilroy High. Field events start at 9:30 a.m. and track events at 11 a.m. Plenty of locals will be in action.
