The Best in the West competition was created and is hosted by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office year.

It’s the largest invitational SWAT competition in the western United States. This year’s competition was the 20th rendition. The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team is responsible for the design and physically constructing and running the intensive two-day, seven event competition that pits SWAT teams from all over the U.S. against each other.
