Hollister – A Hollister man was arrested after imprisoning a woman in their home for three days and repeatedly raping and assaulting her, according to police.

Santiago Gonzalez Fajardo, 21, was arrested at his McCray Street home Wednesday evening on suspicion of attempted murder, rape by force, domestic violence, false imprisonment, terrorists threats and oral copulation, all felonies, police spokesman George Ramirez said.

Police received a call from a 21-year-old woman, who has a relationship with Fajardo, from Albertson’s about 5:15pm, Ramirez said.

For unknown reasons Fajardo and the woman drove to Albertson’s and she was able to escape, flag someone down and contact police, Ramirez said.

The woman then led police to the residence where Fajardo was contacted and arrested, he said.

The assault allegedly stemmed from an argument Fajardo and the woman had, Ramirez said. Fajardo began hitting her and then wouldn’t let her leave the house, he said. Throughout the three days, Fajardo allegedly raped her, forced her to perform oral sex on him and punched her in her mid and upper torso, Ramirez said.

Police arrested Fajardo for attempted murder because he also allegedly poked her with a kitchen knife and choked her several times, he said.

The woman tried to leave the house once, but Fajardo pulled her back in, and Ramirez said she did not try to call police from the home.

She was taken to a San Jose-area hospital where a sexual assault test was performed, he said.

Fajardo was booked into the San Benito County Jail in lieu of $700,000 bail, according to jail personnel.
