Three female patrons of a downtown bar got into a fight, one of
them was treated by paramedics for a bite to the hand, and the one
who bit her was arrested, police said.
A Gilroy woman was arrested after she bit another woman’s in a fight over a man outside a Morgan Hill bar, police said.
Police responded to a call of a physical altercation in the parking lot behind Legends Bar & Grill, 17330 Monterey Road, about 11:43 p.m. Saturday. The scuffle involved three women who had been drinking alcohol at a nearby bar, Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said.
One of the fighters, a 30-year-old Gilroy woman, bit another on the hand, causing a wound, Neumayer said. An ambulance was called and the victim, whose name police did not release, was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Desiree Reyes, who police say was the biter, was arrested on suspicion of fighting in public and released from the police station later the same evening. It is unclear if the biting was the result of mutual aggression or self defense, and the case will be forwarded to the district attorney who will determine what charges, if any, Reyes will face, Neumayer said.
Based on witness statements, the fight was over a guy and was preceded by alcohol consumption, according to Neumayer.
