From the SC Sheriff’s Dept.:
On June 27, 2017, at approximately 5:26 PM, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a body that was discovered underneath Highway 101 in unincorporated Gilroy. The body was discovered by a land surveyor in a creek bed just east of Monterey Frontage Road and west of Bolsa Road between the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 101.
The deceased, an adult male, showed signs of being at that location for an extended period of time. Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were dispatched to the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner/ Coroner took possession of the deceased and will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
We are not releasing any further information on the deceased until we can confirm their identity and notify their next of kin.
