Mr. Roberts joined the Army Air Force in November 1945, at the
age of 18. Holding the rank of

he was an Airplane Crew Chief who was honorably discharged in
November 1948. He was honored with a World War II

Victory Medal.

Harry LeRoy Roberts, better known as “Buzz,” died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005. He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Portland, Ore.
Mr. Roberts joined the Army Air Force in November 1945, at the age of 18. Holding the rank of “Staff Sergeant,” he was an Airplane Crew Chief who was honorably discharged in November 1948. He was honored with a World War II “Victory Medal.”
Mr. Roberts married Mary I. Kasner (now deceased), February 1952, and had three daughters. He later married Marlene C. Camara in August of 1967, and had one son.
He was a brilliant man who worked most of his life – following military service – as a Senior Design Engineer. He brought new technology and design for companies like Schlage Lock, Northern Telecom and IBM. His love of wood brought forth beautiful and uniquely crafted pieces which will be treasured for years to come. He received Jesus Christ, as his lord and Savior in 1983, and was water baptized in April of 1991. Always pursuing excellence in all that he did, he will be remembered with great love and fond memories.
He is the grandson of William A. and Adelaide Hoering, deceased; son of Harry H. and Vera C. Roberts, deceased; beloved brother to William L. Roberts, Gary M. Roberts, and Carolyn M. Courtney; the loving father to Linda M. Bejarano. Victoria A. Woten, Kim. R. Medeiros and Brett M. Roberts; grandfather to Athena M. Herrera, Yvette C. Bejarano, Anelina M. Gutierrez, Aimee M. Bejarano, Joshua S. Medeiros, Benjamin J. Bejarano, Nicole L. Dingle, Michael A. Medeiros and Christina M. Medeiros; the great-grandfather to Angel N. Herrera, Isabel M. Bejarano, Lianna G. Herrera, Sierra M. Roberts, Nicolas J. Herrera, Gabriella S. Dingle, Luke L. Herrera and Tomas J. Herrera.
Graveside services will take place at 1pm today, Feb. 9, 2005, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine.
