The Christopher JV squad was handed its first loss of the season, falling 16-13 to Palma at home Oct. 2. 
The JV Chieftains jumped ahead early, scoring a touchdown in the first quarter and a field goal in the second. The JV Cougars scored a TD of their own in the second quarter, but the point after attempt was blocked and they headed into halftime trailing 10-6. 
The JV Cougars struck for another touchdown in the third quarter and held Palma to a field goal to tie the game at 13-all. 
The JV Chieftains secured the win with a field goal in the final frame. 
Christopher (3-1) will take on the Salinas JV squad at 5 p.m. Friday in Salinas.
