SAN MARTIN – Sheriff’s deputies are looking for one or more burglars who allegedly stole $7,500 in cash from a produce market’s unlocked safe early Monday morning.
The thief or thieves tripped the Sidhu Produce Market’s burglar alarm at 12:07 a.m. Monday but managed to avoid being caught on video surveillance cameras there, deputies said. This led deputies to suspect it may have been an inside job, according to Deputy Terrance Helm, the sheriff’s spokesperson.
The thieves were gone by 12:14 a.m., deputies reported. The missing cash had been stored in a safe and two metal lock boxes, all of which had been left unlocked in a closet.
Sidhu Produce Market is located at 12900 Monterey Road in San Martin.
