Four players have three-hit days for South County Rockery and
Building Materials in 11-10 win over unbeaten Playaz
GILROY – South County Rockery and Building Materials jumped into the Men’s CC League pennant race Monday by shocking the unbeaten Playaz 11-10 at Gavilan Sports Park.

The loss left the Playaz and Las Animas Sweepers tied at 3-1 atop the league, with South County Rockery trailing in third place at 2-1-1.

Tim Sorci, Mark Degiovanna, Brian Kowsoski and Victor Murray each stroked three hits as the Rockery built an 11-4 lead after five innings. Daniel DeLeon and Will Hill provided RBI-doubles in a five-run sixth for the Playaz. Daniel DeLeon and Sammy DeLeon made it 11-10 with consecutive two-out doubles in the seventh.

Daniel DeLeon and George Salgado Jr. each mustered three hits to pace the Playaz.

Wayne Pfeffer Jr.’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Las Animas Sweepers past No Soup 4 You 11-10.

Donnie Gooding launched a solo home run and Greg Berg went 3-for-4 and plated three Sweeper runs. Rich Furtado hit two homers and Kurt Gitmed completed a 4-for-4 Soup night with a two-run homer in the Soup seventh to leave the game at 10-10.

Eddie Gomez highlighted a six-run first inning with a two-run triple to help Malibu Heating and Air Conditioning to a 13-8 nod over In The Zone.

Wayne Martinelli stroked three hits and Juan Sarmiento scored four runs for Malibu. Colby Dixon homered and Junior Campos, Tommy Haro and Tony Maquinalez netted three singles each for the Zone.

The Dirty Dozen raced to 4-0 atop the Men’s CCC League Monday with a 13-9 triumph over Extreme Air Poor Boys at Christmas Hill Park.

Ruben Lujan went 4-for-4, Mike Gracia went 3-for-3 and Ricky Salinas offered two triples for the Dozen. Extreme Poor Boys countered with home runs from Art Del Valle, Brandon Orlando and Brad Burrows, along with a 3-for-4 effort from Alan Hazelberg.

Countryside Daycare is 3-1 by stopping Morgan Hill Bible Church 9-7. Steve Sorci went 4-for-4 for the Daycare, Paul Bejarano and Jim Neilsen each netting three hits for Morgan Hill Bible Church.

Bob Stuve and Phil Clark each hit two singles in an 11-run first inning as the Desperados defeated Victory Outreach 16-1. Clark went 3-for-4. Roger Hanrahan went 2-for-2 and scored the Victory Outreach run.
