The Christopher girls tennis team got its season off to a strong start, sweeping Live Oak 7-0 during its scrimmage Wednesday.Â
No. 1 singles player Jade Bardrick topped her Acorn counterpart, Abbey Upstill, 6-4, 6-2, while the Cougars’ No. 2 Liz Levan handled Hanh Phan 6-2, 6-3.Â
Kaitlyn Lombardo knocked off Live Oak’s Sierra Benitez 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles match and Sydney Tran won the No. 4 duel 6-0, 6-3 over Tanji Serct.
In doubles, Christopher’s No. 1 duo of Kelly Nantais and Malia Campos topped Emma LaMontagne and Anna Jensen 6-2, 6-1. Minna Wu and Nikki Chen beat Nikki Bingham and Julia Leal 6-3, 6-2 in No. 2 doubles and Annemaries Hayes and Sara Blawski defeated Paige Brill and Miann Heist 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 doubles match.
Christopher will kick off the regular season at 4 p.m. Thursday against St. Francis at home.Â

Cougars sweep St. Francis
Christopher swept St. Francis 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 at home Wednesday to improve to 5-3 on the season.

Christopher blanks Lynbrook
The Cougars picked up their first win of the season, a 2-0 shutout over Lynbrook Wednesday on the road.
