In over 100 degree weather Thursday evening, the Gilroy Little League Minors National Marlins defeated the Rockies 2-1.

The Marlins were fueled by five strong innings of pitching by Kyle Greenhalgh (pictured above), who allowed only one run while collecting eight strikeouts. Tommy Castro came in to pitch the sixth inning, striking out two of three batters he faced. Brendan Lerma, Ryan Citti and Daniel Colmer helped secure the victory with strong fielding and hitting performances.
