A 35-year-old man was stabbed at the Morgan Hill Gas Station, where he had stopped to buy gas at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Four hours later, at about 12:15 a.m., a 17-year-old male was shot in the back of the knee near Crest Avenue and Berry Court. Officers responded to the area after receiving a report of gun shots being heard.

According to a police report, the stabbing victim said he was arguing with an unknown Hispanic male when five or six unknown males attacked him. A witness said they heard the subjects yelling gang slurs as they fought the victim.

One of them stabbed him in the upper torso. The victim then drove to his home and had his mother drive him to the hospital, where he was transported to San Jose Regional Hospital via helicopter and treated for his wounds.

The shooting victim said he was walking home when he saw two males wearing dark clothing, one pedaling a bike and the other standing on the rear tire pegs. When the subjects yelled something at him, the victim said he started to run away from them. As he was running, he heard three gunshots and felt a sharp pain to the back of his right knee. He continued running until he arrived home and had his father drive him to a hospital.

Both victims were treated for their wounds and released by Wednesday morning.

These incidents are the latest in a string of gang-related crimes since November, according to the police report.

Anyone with information regarding the stabbing or shooting can call Detective Dini or Detective Richards of the Morgan Hill Police Department at 408-779-2101.
