GILROY – Playing their third game in four days, the Gavilan men’s soccer team couldn’t keep pace with a visiting College of Marin last Friday, falling 2-1.

Jairo Rodriguez scored the lone goal for the Rams, which fall to 3-2 on the year. The goal was assisted by Juan Negrete.

“I could see that we were a little sloppy and that the concentration level wasn’t there,” coach Albert Marques said of the pregame. “The third game of the week, just a little too much.”

Gavilan trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Trailing 2-1 late, the Rams added a forward to the front line to punch in the tying goal, and although they did hit the cross bar at one point, the Rams couldn’t hit the equalizer.

Gavilan will play at Mission College Tuesday.
