On Sun February 20, 2011, Rose Tomasa Gutierrez passed away due to natural causes.
She had just recently celebrated her 103rd birthday. Rose was born in Watsonville on February 17th in the year 1908.
She had 10 children: Manual, Mary, Frank, Natalie, Fred, Julian, Rose, Dolores, Esperanza and Eva. She is survived by seven of her 10 children, 41 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Rose’s mother settled in the Madrone area and all of Rose’s children attended schools in the Madrone and Morgan Hill area’s.
She retired from Driscoll/Pik n Pak in San Martin after working there for 21 years. In her early retirement years, Rose was very active in her local senior center. She lived a full and much loved life and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A vigil service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street, Morgan Hill, CA at 7:00 P.M. on Mon. February 28th, 2011.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherines Church, Tues. March 1st at 10 am, followed by a graveside service at Mount Hope Memorial Park.
