Trevino Brothers Construction outlasted VFW Bingo 18-17 Thursday
to leave both teams at 4-1 atop the Men’s E League standings at Las
Animas Park.
Family First earned a one-game lead in the Men’s EE Softball League’s second-half pennant chase Thursday with an 8-4 victory over rival Louie & the Outlaws at Christmas Hill Park.

Trailing 4-3 after five innings, Family First struck for five runs in the sixth. Consecutive hits by Rigo Benevidez, Ed Cordia, Joseph Oviedo and Mike Lopez capped the rally for 4-1 Family First. Herman Vasquez doubled and singled for Louie & the Outlaws (3-2).

ACUS moved into second place at 3-2 with a 13-10 edging of the Foothills. Ben Hartshorn, 3-for-3 for the night, hit a two-run triple in a seven-run first for ACUS. Matt Thiel went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Jason Collins collected three Foothills singles.

The Gilroy Bombers (3-2) trimmed the Assassins 11-10 with a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning. Mike Vasquez and Julian Carbajal hit consecutive two-out singles to complete the Bomber comeback. Scott Mead and Rudy Maquinalez hit home runs for the Assassins.

Rob Silvia homered and Pascual Cid went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for Trevino Brothers. Jon Castro and Steven Jeske homered for VFW Bingo.

Picassos Tattoo reached 3-2 with a 17-2 victory over HUH. Kawika Palacios and Jeremy Damon each nabbed four Tattoo hits. Addison Quach and Josh Nelson scored HUH runs.

Eddie Vargas hit a three-run home run and Tucker Baksa and Tony Bravo each scored three runs to lead the Lost Boyz past the Titans 19-15. Vance Lee homered and Craig Courtney went 5-for-5 for the Titans.

DeHaro Mechanical grabbed first place in the Men’s D League at 4-1 Friday with a 12-7 upset of Players-HD Auto Glass. Abel Martinez hit a two-run home run and Paul Vasquez provided three hits for DeHaro. Blue Torralba homered and Joe Ojeda went 3-for-3 for the 3-1 Players.

The Heathens also hit 3-1 for second place with a 32-14 win over No Soup 4 You. Maciel Urenda homered in a 6-for-6 night for the Heathens. Ralph Ortez hit two homers, Joaquin Chacon one for No Soup.

A-Plus Learning Center topped the Bike Center 19-8 to improve to 3-1. Eric Vegas hit two homers, Marc Vegas one for the Center. Ben Orduno homered for the Bikers.

Humboldt Brewing scored 12 runs in the first inning and held on to upset the first-place Borrachos 16-11 in Men’s DD action Friday.

Dave Keim Jr.’s two-run triple highlighted the Brewing first frame. Daniel Valdez homered to help Humboldt to a three-run fifth. Armando Uribe homered and Peter Bisceglia went 3-for-4 for the 4-1 Borrachos.

Anritsu (3-1) is one-half game behind the Borrachos after defeating Claddagh Brew Crew 24-18. Aaron Miller and Bobby Lopez each collected four hits and scored four runs for Anritsu. Rich Gallardo went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and Jake Moreno homered in a 5-for-5 showing for Claddagh.

Feather Haven (3-2) used three hits apiece from Tim DeCarlo, Aaron Parker and Jessie Nunez to top Familia-Dos Amigos 16-7. Donny Gooding went 4-for-4 and Kevin Orosco homered for the losers.

Chaos clinched at least a tie for the second-half Co-Rec D title Sunday with a 19-8 nod over Anritsu. Stephanie Pinheiro and Cat Pierotti each scored three Chaos (4-0) runs. Tommy Muth went 3-for-4 for Anritsu.

The Big Kahunas reached 2-2 with a 17-12 victory over Kay’s Kids. Jesse Nunez homered in a 4-for-5 effort for the winners. John Ceballos and Shelly Ceballos each came up with three hits for Kay’s Kids.

Rush Order (2-2) outlasted Hi-Energy Networks 9-7 Sunday in Co-Rec C play. Ray Ramos keyed the Rush Order offense with three hits. Joseph Tovar homered for Hi-Energy.

Daniel Garcia homered in a 4-for-4 performance to lead Chili’s Grill & Bar by Out 2 Play 10-8. Eddie Adame went 5-for-5, Amanda McGraw 3-for-4 for Chili’s. James Lopez went 2-for-2 and scored twice for Out 2 Play.
