Mildred “Millie” P. Willard, 79, died Dec. 31, 2004, at her Murrieta home after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 10, 1925 in Stroud, Okla., she was a housewife, artist, musician and evangelist who was passionately active in Christian communities in Gilroy and Orange County for the past 20 years. She was a resident of Gilroy from 1941 to 1984, when she moved to Murrieta.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Horace Willard, a noted home builder in South County; loving mother to sons, Larry Willard a real estate developer in Los Gatos and Gary Willard a noted physician in Murrieta; sisters, Sylvia of Gilroy, Bernice of Oroville, Ruby of Stanton, and Julie of Redding; grandchildren Taryn (mother Shirley), Ronnie, Brett, Jon, Natalie, Nicole, Markus, Christopher and Matthew; and great-grandchildren Trevor, Chloe and Luke.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan, 7, 2005, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

A funeral service will be held at 11am today, Jan. 8, 2005, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
