Monday is Memorial Day and people who want to be registered for Gilroy’s annual parade need to have their application submitted by Friday, May 24. The form can be completed online here.

Participants in the Memorial Day Parade must check-in between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday in the train depot parking lot at the intersection of Eighth and Monterey streets. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. sharp.

The Gilroy Memorial Day Parade Committee along with American Legion Gilroy Post #217 and VFW post #6309 will be holding a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at 9 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery on First Street in Gilroy.

After the parade the community is invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun and celebration from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Christmas Hill Park. The Gilroy Memorial Day Car Show will also take place at the park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. More details about Memorial Day activities can be found at www.gilroycommunity.org or via Albert Lambert at 408-781-3396.
