Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

A thief or thieves pried open the locked track and field storage
shed on West Tenth Street and stole a mini fridge valued at $100,
11:26 a.m. March 14. The fridge was later recovered along the Uvas
Creek levee.
Commercial burglary

A thief or thieves pried open the locked track and field storage shed on West Tenth Street and stole a mini fridge valued at $100, 11:26 a.m. March 14. The fridge was later recovered along the Uvas Creek levee.

A thief or thieves removed the front cover and lid to a Whirlpool washer in the laundry room at the Park View Apartments on Pierce Street between 11 p.m. March 14 and 12:15 a.m. March 15. It appeared the suspect or suspects attempted to steal the coin box bolted to the top the washer and ultimately took the entire portion of the washer, causing $900 in damage.

Non-injury accident

A red 2003 Dodge and a gray 1996 Honda were involved in a crash on Hanna Street, 9:03 a.m. March 12.

Stolen vehicle

A gray 1992 Honda Accord (license 5GNW069) was stolen from the 8600 block of San Ysidro Avenue between 6 and 11 p.m. March 12.

A white 1994 Chevy was stolen from the Sobrato Apartments on Monterey Street, 10:10 a.m. March 13.

A black 2000 Nissan on Dowdy Street was recovered, 8 p.m. March 14.

Found property

Someone found a gray safe with personal documents inside, March 13.

Blight

A case of residential blight was reported on Forest Street, 8:28 a.m. March 13.

Vehicle burglary

A thief or thieves damaged the ignition switch and broke the door lock of a white 2006 Chevy between 6 p.m. March 12 and 7 a.m. March 13. The person stole several power tools valued at $3,450.

Residential burglary

A thief or thieves entered a residence on East Sixth Street and took a gold chain with Virgin Guadeloupe medallion valued at $1,500 and five gold rings valued at $100 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 13.

Missing juvenile

A woman reported her 11-year-old son was missing from 9 to 10:30 p.m. March 13 from a Stoney Court residence. The juvenile was found by patrol officers while riding bikes with a friend at Eigleberry and Seventh Streets.

A missing juvenile was reported from Pierce Street, 11 p.m. March 13.

Grand theft

A thief or thieves entered a vehicle on Hoxett Street and stole a 30 gig iPod valued at $300, a Tom Tom GPS valued at $150 and miscellaneous credit cards and paperwork between 9 p.m. March 13 and 5 a.m. March 14. Credit cards that were in the wallet were used to pay a Verizon wireless account.

A thief or thieves stole potted palm plants valued at $450 from Doris Court between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. March 14.

A thief or thieves stove a drills and a drill bit set valued at $490 from Hastings Place between 12:01 and 5:10 a.m. March 13.

Assault

A man assaulted his wife of one year on First Street, 4:23 p.m. March 14.

Someone was assaulted by family members on Carmel Street, 7 p.m. March 13.

Weapons

Someone was contacted on Miller Avenue while displaying Norteno gang insignia, 4:47 p.m. March 14. The suspect was on probation for narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed a Little League bat.

Suspicious

A vehicle was found at Christmas Hill Park unattended after closing, 11:15 p.m. March 14. The vehicle was towed and stored after the owner was not able to be located.

Vandalism

A vandal or vandals caused major damage to a a 1996 Honda on West Eighth Street and Princevalle Street, 3:52 a.m. March 15.

A vandal or vandals vandalized property on Monterey Road between 5:30 and 7:05 a.m. March 13.

Fraud

A thief or thieves entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle on Hanna Street and stole his wallet between Feb. 21 and March 15. The victim suspects his credit cards were used to obtain gasoline and prepaid phone cards.

Graffiti

A vandal or vandals graffitied a fence on Benbow Drive on March 11.

Vehicle tampering

A 1996 Honda Civic was tampered with on Farrell Avenue between 11 p.m. March 14 and 1:30 a.m. March 15.

Auto burglary

A thief of thieves stole an iPod valued at a $250 from a 2007 Honda Civic on Miller Avenue between 2:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 13.

A thief of thieves stole credit cards, a purse and wallet from a black 2001 Chevy on Eigleberry, 3 p.m. March 23.
