game Thursday night against visiting Salinas.
GILROY – Having to play Tri Country Athletic League games two nights in a row is uncommon, but the Gilroy High girls basketball team didn’t let the abnormal scheduling dictate the outcome of its game Thursday night against visiting Salinas.
After a 63-27 victory over Alisal on Wednesday, the Lady Mustangs went right back to work, defeating the Cowboys 56-28.
The win boosts Gilroy’s record to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in league action.
Junior Chelsea Hill posted 22 points to lead all scorers and senior Lindsey Foster had 10.
The Lady Mustangs used a big first quarter, jumping out to a 17-5 lead, to set the tone for the rest of the contest. They led by 21 at halftime and cruised to the finish line from there.
Gilroy hosts Alvarez on Monday at 7 p.m.
