Valley Water has drained Anderson Reservoir in east Morgan Hill until it is almost empty, and will begin seeking bids in January for a contractor to build a massive new discharge tunnel over the next three years.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District is holding an informational meeting on the Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit on Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Jackson School library, 2700 Fountain Oaks Drive in Morgan Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. Water district staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The Santa Clara County Water District board will consider implementing a parcel tax to raise money for such things as flood protection, stream stewardship and help pay for a portion of the Anderson Dam retrofit project.
