Council to consider banning smoking in parks

During Monday night’s regular meeting at 6 p.m. City Council plans to vote on a proposed ordinance that will prohibit smoking in public parks except for in designated smoking areas.

Mary Humphrey honored as “Volunteer of the Year”

Mary E. Humphrey was far from Gilroy - in Argentina, no less - when she heard the news last November. "My daughter texted me: 'You're the V-O-Y,' volunteer of the year," Humphrey recalled.
