There are two lanes coming out of Eagle Ridge at Club Drive. Obviously both lanes trigger the light to change. If the car coming out of Eagle Ridge (low traffic volume) is making a right turn, they stop at the right and continue south on Santa Teresa if no traffic is there. If you are travelling north on Santa Teresa (down the hill toward Club Drive), you have to stop at the light turning red from the car making a right turn, but that car has long since gone from the intersection and you are left sitting there with no traffic in any direction waiting for the light to become green again. Would you explain the reasoning why they didn't design to have the left lane leaving Eagle Ridge be straight or left turn and the right lane only turn right, and have the lights adjusted to support that?
When did El Roble children’s Park become an El Roble Dog Park, too? As you can imagine, not all who bring their dogs to El Roble Park are responsible dog owners. For health and safety reasons, I no longer bring my grandchildren to the park because of the smell, urine and dog feces left behind. The dog sign and waste bags at the entrance of the park have caused a significant change to a park designed for neighborhood children to encourage its use as a dog park, too. The exponential increase in dogs and their owners at the park has also played havoc with the neighborhood dogs, who are now barking in protest at every dog not from this neighborhood. Let’s do the right thing and support a dedicated dog park for our best friend, so we can keep our children’s play area safe and healthy.
What's with all the new graffiti in Gilroy? Last week someone tagged the walls on the new KB Homes property on Luchessa. It got cleaned up and two days later it reappeared—and worse. All the way home toward Gavilan there was graffiti on new round-about rocks, on Thomas Road then on Mesa. Not cool. We moved to Gilroy to avoid stuff like this.
This question is in regards to the traffic signal at the intersection of First and Wren. When driving west on First Street, and entering the left turn lane, and the signal is red. Cars waiting. The green arrow comes on for the cars to proceed. The signal seems to have short time span for cars making left turns. On regular occasions, only four cars are able to clear the intersection before the amber arrow comes on. I have seen as many as three additional cars attempt to clear the intersection. Can more time be added to the left turn signal before a nasty accident happens?
Could you please try to help me get the gate opened at Christopher High School so runners/joggers can use the track during non-school hours? What’s the deal, we pay taxes! Don Christopher doesn’t own the thing, he donated it and we paid for the land, maintenance, etc. This community should support people who want to stay in shape and need the resources to do it. Running on a padded track is best for runners/joggers. It saves our knees.
I’m having a problem getting five streetlights on Murray Avenue lit. There are five streetlights that have been out since March. I’ve talked to Henry and Joe and they told us by October it would be done, and they still haven’t done it. The last thing they said was that it was political. I don’t know what that means. Maybe you can help me.
I thought I saw something about crosswalks or lights. Mine is on Forest and Martin streets and the reason is the poor visibility at that intersection, the amount of people trying to cross—especially at Eliot—and the increase of traffic on Forest over the last five years due to development. Thanks.
The lights at the intersection of 10th and Arroyo Circle next to Best Buy take a long time to switch. You sit there for a while and no cars are coming from the west. Can you see if this can be looked at?
I've noticed lots of construction on area on-ramps, and recently used both the Masten and San Martin to 101 ramps, now that they're open again, and a short carpool lane has been added and I've seen new carpool stoplights on other ramps. Is that what's being done to all the ramps? If so, why? Because San Martin has such an incredible volume of traffic on those on-ramps? Ridiculous. Our money could be spent in a much more relevant and efficient way.
