Carly M. Pedersen and Scott H. Adams announced their engagement on Dec. 24. The bride to be is a 2003 graduate of Live Oak High School and graduated from Santa Clara University in 2008. Pedersen is a Cost Control Analyst for Pebble Beach Resorts. She is the daughter of Jeff and Bobbi Pedersen who reside in Morgan Hill. Adams graduated from Enterprise High School in 1995 and served in the US Air Force in 1997. He was a PGA Class A Professional in 2006. Currently, he is head PGA Golf Professional at San Juan Oaks Golf Course in San Juan Bautista. He is the son of Sharon Adams-Bucher of Aptos, and Steve Adams of Fresno.
Katharine Bright of San Martin and Micah McDowell of Camarillo became engaged Sept. 5 at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. The bride-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Christopher High School and a senior at Pepperdine University majoring in English literature. The groom-to-be is a 2012 graduate of Grace Brethren High School and a senior at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business. The couple will be married next summer at her family’s ranch in San Martin.
Chrissy Bryant and Brett Boutorwick were married May 30 at Castillo Hillside Shire Winery in Morgan Hill. The bride is the daughter of Susan Bryant of Morgan Hill and Paul Ramoneda of Rancho Cucamonga. She graduated from Live Oak High School and received her bachelor’s degree from the San Jose State University. She is currently employed as a social media manager at SAP. The groom is the son of Brennan Frank Boutorwick and Christine Carringer, both of Fairfield. He is a graduate of Justin Sienna High School in Napa and San Jose State University and is employed as a project engineer at ACCO.
Bill and Lawana Clem, formerly of Gilroy, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 26. The couple married in San Martin in 1945 and raised their four children, Larry, Glenda, Marilyn and Bruce, in South Santa Clara County. Bill Clem, a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Force 303rd Bomb Group, worked as a carpenter for 16 years and later became building inspector for the City of Gilroy until his retirement. Lawana Clem worked for Gilroy Cannery for 39 years. The Clems retired to Oklahoma in 1989. They have six grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, two step-great-grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Dan and Mary Ann Sanidad of Morgan Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Maria Gabriela Sanidad, to Adrian Fidel Espinoza, son of Manuel Alfaro, Grace Ramirez, William Espinoza and Maggie Poffenroth. The bride-to-be received her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, specializing in art therapy, from Notre Dame de Namur University. She is employed at Discovery Counseling Center in Morgan Hill. The groom-to-be attended Evergreen Valley College and is employed at Leal Vineyards in Hollister. The wedding will be held Dec. 19, 2015, at Willow Heights Mansion.
Julie DeeAnn Darnauer and John Joseph Panzica will be married at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Holiday Inn in Morgan Hill. The bride-to-be is the daughter of James and Joy Darnauer. She attended Britton Middle School, Live Oak High School and Gavilan College and is co-director of Lollipop Lane Preschool in Gilroy. The groom-to-be, son of Nace and Kathy Panzica, also attended Britton Middle School and Live Oak High School. He works in sales and warehouse and receiving at Baggerwerx and Chopper Cycles in Gilroy. The couple will make their home in Gilroy.
HONORS: Attalyssa Berg: Attalyssa Berg, of Gilroy, was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University during the recently completed fall 2014 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale.
BIRTH: Luca Cariglio: Luca Anthony Alexander Cariglio was born Feb. 6, 2015 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Iona and Anthony Cariglio of San Martin. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces.
