The Under-11 Class 1 Girls Orchard Valley Chaos finished second in the Almaden Cup Tournament on Sept. 29 and 30.

OV Chaos1, Fremont Tops 0

Taylor Dempsey, Claire Giacalone, Emily Allaert and Kayla Owens played a strong defense, leaving Fremont with very few offensive chances. Taylor Silacci scored the winning goal for Chaos.

OV Chaos2, Heritage Panters 0

Sandra Ceja crossed a beautiful pass right in front of the goal to Ali Aceves. C.C. Contreras scored the second goal of the game with a sharp shot right into the net. Midfielders Carly McPolin, Claire Toy and Bella Apolinar kept the ball up top for most of the game. Goalie Valaria Escalera had some great saves to keep the Heritage panthers scoreless.

OV Chaos 1, Tracy 0

Tamlin Vereyken scored on a beautiful shot that sailed right over the goalie’s head. Maddie Bohn, Alexi Slattery and Sandra Ceja had numerous shots on goal that nearly missed or hit the goal posts. Ali Aceves played a strong game at goalie, making numerous diving saves. The Chaos had shut out the competition and earned a spot in the championship game later in the afternoon.

Almaden Valley 3, OV Chaos 0 Sandra Ceja, Taylor Silacci and C.C. Contreras had numerous shots on goal but werent able to put one in. Goalies Valaria Escalera and Ali Aceves deflected many shots on goal. Almaden Valley scored three goals to win the tournament. The Chaos will be playing in their next tournament in October in Sacramento.
