The city saw a nearly nine-percent jump in the revenue from January through March of this year, including a 29-percent increase in sales taxes from gas stations, according to the city.
*Gilroy also saw nearly 10-percent leaps in revenue from its outlet shopping centers and its auto dealers, according to the city.
The city’s total sales tax increase was the sixth best in Santa Clara County.
Cupertino was tops among the county’s 15 cities with a 17.5 percent increase. Morgan Hill was a close second at 17.3 percent.
