I suggest the city rent a mobile office for a police substation, so there will be police protection 24/7 for the duration of the streetscape project.
They also should rent some golf carts, which they could store in a 40-foot container, and use some councilmen and planning staff to transport the seniors who want eat and bowl downtown. What good public relations! Maybe then the citizens of Gilroy would really feel the city does care about all of Gilroy.
