Amanda Poso, an 11-year-old Brownell Academy student, began growing her hair back in January 2004 after seeing a television show about children who lost their hair to cancer.

Amanda knew right away that she wanted to help a child. Despite countless efforts on her mom’s part to get her to cut her hair because it was not easy to take care of, Amanda would not do it until she had 10 inches, the minimum length to donate.

On June 3, she finally got her hair cut. Amanda, whose hair is shoulder-length now, donated her hair to Locks of Love. Visit www.locksoflove.com

“Amanda is a selfless child and is always looking to help somebody, so this really made her feel great to help another child,” wrote her mother, Stacey Poso.
